Registration for Spring Soccer is Open!

• What: Spring Soccer.  Spring soccer is an awesome way to take soccer to the next level.  Spring Soccer is a more competitive soccer program than fall rec.  Teams will travel on many Saturdays between April and June.
• When: Some teams begin practicing indoors after the first of the year.  Outdoor practice usually begins after the snow melts.  Games are April – June.
• Who: Soccer Players that want to play competitively, and are willing to travel.  Age U9 – U19.  (See the Age Chart to determine your soccer age.)
• How Much: U9 – U11 registration is $140 plus uniforms    U12 – U19 is $175 plus uniforms.

• Player Information Form
• Medical Release Form
• Copy of Birth Certificate

• Where:      Cherry Valley Elementary Cafeteria
• Cost:                   $5 per person or $20 per family

HELP US BUILD NEW SOCCER FACILITIES AND PROVIDE SCHOLARSHIPS!

PYSA is dedicated to offering an opportunity to any child to play soccer regardless of economic status.  Each year, we attempt to offer over $3,000 in scholarships to players.  We are also concentrating  fundraising efforts toward obtaining a state of the arts soccer complex where we will able to have a longer, more productive soccer season and host soccer tournaments for visiting teams.  This is not only great for our area youth, but also great for the local economy.

The time has arrived for fall soccer games to begin!

Due to a large number of late registrations, formation of teams and completion of the field layout and game schedule was delayed.  We appreciate all your support.  Next year we will put a lot of effort into getting the word out about registration and ask parents to watch for registration in the spring and early summer.   This will allow our volunteers to provide a smooth start to the season.

Following are additional documents that can be of assistance to you:

The following are simple instructions for the fall 2011 PYSA Soccer Season, and in particular for this Sunday September 11:

Coaches

• Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled game time (1:00pm, 2:00pm or 3:30pm) at Kerr Dam Fields this Sunday September 11.
• Team colored shirts can be obtained near the concession stand for your team. Extras may be provided if available.
• Please immediately proceed to your field location per the game schedule and field layout map and await your players.
• Please have your players put on their team shirts, warm up, and be ready to play at the start time established.
• Game durations and rules are located in the attached document.
• Parents are to be on one side of the field and coaches/players on the opposite side please.
• Referees will arrive to the field shortly before game time. We are trying to get a single referee for all games, but if a referee is not available for some reason, please have each coach or team representative referee half the game, and begin the game at the scheduled start time.
• No coaching by referees during the game shall be permitted. Just let them play and have fun!
• Be kind and respectful to the players, the parents, the other team, and especially the volunteer referees and PYSA volunteers.

Parents and Players

• Please arrive at Kerr Dam Fields at least 15 minutes (or as directed by your coach) prior to your scheduled game time of either 1:00pm, 2:00pm or 3:30pm.
• Please immediately proceed to your field location per the game schedule and field layout map and await your coach if he has not arrived. The game schedules and field map will also be posted at the concession stand each week for your convenience.
• Coaches will hand out the colored team shirts this Sunday prior to game time at the assigned field.
• Players should put on their team shirts, warm up, and be ready to play at the start time established.
• Parents are to be on one side of the field and coaches/players on the opposite side please.
• Players must wear shin guards under their socks, or they cannot play. Soccer cleats are recommended.
• Bring plenty of water.
• Be kind and respectful to the coaches, the players, the parents, the other team, and especially the volunteer referees and PYSA volunteers.
• Most importantly, have a good time!

The attached information will also be posted on the west side of the concession stand, and PYSA volunteers will be located near the concession stand to answer any questions. Food will be available in the concession stand, and shin guards and cleats will be available at the concession stand for purchase if needed. Fall Kick Off Event: Sunday, August 28^th 6:00 PM   Kerr Dam Field. Come meet your coach!  Practices will be set by your coach and will begin in the days following the kick off event.  This event includes an equipment swap.   Bring the gear that your player has outgrown!

Attire: Shin Guards are required during practice and games.  Cleats and shorts are recommended.  Your player will receive a T-Shirt sometime before the first game.

Games: Games are Sunday afternoon from September 11^th to October 23^rd.

Concessions: Quinns Wrap Shack will be providing us with healthy food choices at Kerr Dam fields on Sunday afternoons.   Look for the Quinn Cart on game days!

End of  Season  Chili Feed: Sometime in October, we will have a Chili Feed!  More information will be forthcoming.

Sportsmanship: Our players learn sportsmanship from parents and coaches.   Games can be exciting and we all enjoy cheering our players on.  As you do so, please keep your comments positive and respectful.  Remember, while on the sidelines, it is the coach’s job to coach, the ref’s job to ref, and the parent’s job to cheer!

This applicant should be willing to serve a couple hours per week on PYSA board related duties which include attending monthly meetings, serving as a liaison with committees, reviewing and approving PYSA policies and budgets as well as attending league fundraisers and events (usually around 2 per year) and connecting with parents, players and coaches.  Applicants should consider themselves, soccer enthusiast and express excitement toward promoting soccer as a prominent sport in Polson. This dynamic person should possess wonderful communication skills and enjoy working with a diverse group toward a common goal.

Come join Polson Youth Soccer for our 2nd Annual Fourth of July Parade and celebrate a great year of soccer!

We will be meeting at Cherry Valley at 10:30 am for the line-up.  The parade starts at noon, so there is plenty of time to coordinate and decorate.  Again, this year, players will be walking the parade route demonstrating their soccer skills.  Players will not be riding on trailers or in pick-ups.  What you do you need to do to participate or help?

• Wear your spring uniform/fall t-shirt;
• Bring a soccer ball, if you have one, and a water bottle;
• Bring a bag of candy to throw out to the spectators along the route;
• And finally, a great attitude, your ball skills, and a smile!

Continue reading »]]> Open to: Parents!  Older Players!  Fans!  Coaches!  Assistant Coaches!  Volunteers!  Anyone that wants to learn a little more about soccer!  If you plan to coach in either fall rec, spring league, or both attendance will be important!  PYSA will be passing out important coaching information for the coming seasons.

When: Mark your Calendar now!  July 24th  3:30 PM to about 7:00 PM.   There will be a pick-up game afterward, so plan on staying and playing!

Where: Linderman

Cost: Free!  If you will be coaching fall rec, you will get a $15 rebate on your child’s registration fee.

Details: Ric Plante, the Director of Coaching for Montana Youth Soccer and Director of Montana Olympic Development Team will be coming to Polson to spend an afternoon with us, teaching us the basics about coaching our young players.  As we have seen,  giving our players a solid foundation at a young age will help them be competitive in the MYSA league as they move into the competitive league.  Training our coaches and parents property is an important step in this process.
